Program OLAQ member Shirley Stutz presents: The Four B's....Backing, Batting, Binding and Blocking Shirley Stutz, teacher, lecturer, designer and author, will unlock some of the mysteries of the four B's in this humorous lecture on a serious subject. In finishing a quilt, much attention is given to 3 of the B's, the Backing, Batting and Binding. Far too often the 4th B, Blocking is overlooked. Walk with our speaker through the journey of systematic blocking to improve hanging appearance of any quilt. The role of all 4 of the B's will be explored, as to their role in the finished hanging project. Compare blocked and unblocked pieces to prove the value of blocking. Extensive trunk show will be a special color treat, since Shirley is in love with all colors. |
